*
Outlander. Vikings, Aliens/Dragons, Spaceships, Hellboy, Blood, Guts, Horror, Jesus Christ the savior!...what a great concept.
*
RocknRolla. A return to form for Snatch and Lock, Stock director Guy Ritchie. Love the british gangsta dramas that stitch together somehow.
*
The Day The Earth Stood Still. Yeah, didn't like it all too much. I dunno if it's the change in message, or Keanu, or that it just felt all flat. Even the disaster scenes just looked okay. Forgettable.
*
Wicker Park. I remember seeing a trailer a while ago and if I remembered it right, the actual movie was totally different in tone and direction. Wonderful movie that kept my eyes glued throughout. Great date movie.
*Push. A lot of negative chatter but i effin' liked it. Your opinions won't sway me on this one. Yeah, it felt like an intro to a wanted franchise but it's entertaining enough and intriguing enough. They don't explain a lot but that's your problem if you don't have an imagination or do not want to discuss and instead complain. I liked it and will watch it again.
*
JCVD. Kept reading about this movie via twitchfilm.net and I didn't know what the plot was. I thought it was completely different from how it turned out. Great way for mr. Van Damme to reinsert himself into great film. Wait, he never was in GREAT FILM, but this was a great film in it's own right. Too bad he turned down a part in THE EXPENDABLES. Your next movie will be shit, sir. Sorry, it's the truth.
*
Deliver Us From Eva + Last Holiday + Fool's Gold - *no comment* (but i enjoyed them)
*
Ichi the Killer. Haven't seen it yet? THEN COME THE FUCK OVER NOW...if you are my friend. Another movie you have to watch. IF YOU CAN HANDLE IT. really, though, it's not that bad. I'm sure you can handle something as tiny as a guy cutting off his own tongue close up with zero cut-a-ways! Seriously. Come over. A favorite of mine to rewatch. Besides the gore, there really is a great message. Too bad you'll probably be too distracted to uncover is all through the red on the screen.
*
Fanboys. A film made for the fanboys, hence the name. Wonderful movie imo and surprisingly heartwarming. This film made it out of development hell and we'll probably won't know what they edited out or added. Kristen Bell alert!!!!!!! =)
*
Role Models. Say WHISPERING EYE. 'Nuff said.
*
Ip Man. Donnie Yen does it again. This is about the guy who eventually taught BRUCE LEE. Donnie Yen is the best martial artist nobody really talks about. You should also watch SPL (Killzone here stateside), Once Upon a Time in China 2, and Hero. He's also in Painted Skin, which is an interesting fable-type story.
*
Punisher: War Zone. The best Punisher movie ever made. I'm not saying this is a good movie, no, far from it. But you don't watch Punisher for the story, you watch it to see some Punishing, and there are tons of Punishing going on. DIRECT SEQUEL PLEASE!
*
Event Horizon. I remember when this movie used to SCARE THE FU*K OUT OF ME. Now, it's just memories. Maybe I'll rewatch it again with surround sound, see how that affects me senses. Hope I'm not too desensitized.
